Week 8 brings undefeated Mater Dei, easily the county’s most dominant team, to the meat of its South Coast League schedule. Trabuco Hills can be troublesome, just ask Villa Park, El Toro and San Clemente, which all lost to the Mustangs. But Trabuco Hills could not stand up to the potent ground attack of Laguna Hills, losing, 48-28. That does not bode well for the Mustangs as Mater Dei also has an excellent offensive line and solid backs in James Farley and Mike McNair. Quarterback Nick Stremick is having an outstanding season for Mater Dei, as is Trabuco Hills’ quarterback Tom Lindow.
