Temple City Center Signs With Irvine

Jeff Johannsen, a 6-foot-11 center from Temple City, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at UC Irvine, Temple City Coach Rich Hollinger said.

Johannsen averaged 14 points and seven rebounds last season for Temple City.

Another Irvine recruit, Inglewood High School’s Dino Tanner, has decided to wait until spring before making a decision, Inglewood Coach Patrick Roy said. Tanner, a 6-1 guard who averaged 17 points last season, is also considering Oklahoma, Minnesota, New Mexico and Texas.
