Five teenagers were arrested for allegedly torturing and brutally beating a 13-year-old classmate, police said Sunday.

The victim was leaving school Thursday when he was confronted by three middle-school classmates and two 14-year-old high school students, according to police in Mountain View, about 35 miles south of San Francisco.

The five suspects allegedly encircled the boy, who was not identified, and ordered him to follow.

Police said the suspects pulled down the victim’s trousers, threw him to the ground and force-fed him leaves. Then they took him to the nearby home of one of the suspects, where they handcuffed him and beat him on the face, head and torso, police said.

The five also allegedly forced the boy to eat coffee grounds, dunked his head in a toilet, shot him repeatedly in the upper body with a BB rifle and dripped melted candle wax on his back and buttocks, as well as on his face and in his mouth.

The five were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, torture and assault with a deadly weapon. Their names were not released.
