Reception to Honor Retiring Councilmen
An appreciation reception to honor retiring City Councilmen John Frackelton and Bob Patchin will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at City Hall, 17855 Santiago Blvd.
Jill Kuli, spokeswoman for the residents who organized the free public reception, said the gathering will be in the council chambers next to the branch library.
“It’s very informal,” Kuli said. “We just want to thank the two council members for what they’ve done. They’ve worked hard and made some good decisions to keep our city solvent.”
Because Villa Park does not pay its council members, Kuli said, “we especially think it’s a good idea to thank these two councilmen for all their work.”
Frackelton, who has served two four-year terms, and Patchin, who has served one term, did not seek reelection this year. Their successors will be Richard Freschi and Patricia Bortle, who topped a field of six candidates Nov. 5.
