A small earthquake shook the remote reaches of northern Ventura County early Thursday morning, but authorities said there were no reports of damages.

The 3.1 magnitude quake struck about 5:15 a.m. in Los Padres National Forest about 10 miles north of Fillmore and 16 miles west-southwest of Gorman, according to seismologists at Caltech.

Officials in Fillmore, where the downtown was devastated in the 1994 Northridge earthquake, said they had not received any calls from residents about the temblor.

“No we didn’t feel it,” said city clerk Noreen Withers. “And that’s the way we like ‘em--little ones that you can’t feel.”
