Bell 23, Monroe 6--Penalties, poor defense and turnovers were the downfall of visiting Monroe.
The Vikings (6-5) were penalized nine times for 90 yards; the defense gave up 192 yards on the ground and 87 in the air; and Monroe committed two costly turnovers inside its own 20--both of which led to scores for Bell (7-4).
With 10 minutes left, Monroe scored on a 36-yard pass play from Will Aliamo to Mike Uribe. That cut the Vikings’ deficit to 10-6.
Bell answered with two touchdowns, sealing its victory.
