* Update: After averaging 35 points in league play, the Steelers struggled offensively in their playoff opener, a 13-8 victory over St. Paul. They have won 10 in a row.

* Next: Friday vs. Capistrano Valley at Glendale High.

* Update: For the second week in a row, running back Jose Mendoza scored the winning touchdown for the Cubs. His 12-yard run with 1:55 remaining helped Loyola to a 27-24 victory over Eisenhower.

* Update: Three runners each had more than 100 yards in the Dons’ 47-20 victory over Burbank Burroughs. Jason Thomas had 113 yards and two touchdowns.

* Update: Travis Carroll passed for 359 yards and two touchdowns and the Indians scored on their first four possessions in a 41-7 victory over Downey.

* Update: Daryl Smith ran five yards for a touchdown with 5:21 remaining for the only score in the Terriers’ 6-0 victory over Esperanza.

* Update: Nick DiPadova passed for 371 yards, a career high, and four touchdowns in a 39-6 victory over Carson. Damon Coleman had seven catches for 158 yards and two touchdowns.
