A 63-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car Saturday evening while delivering food from her son’s restaurant, authorities said.

The unidentified driver of the car--described only as a man in his 20s--did not leave the scene and was not cited for a violation, said Sgt. Rod Grahek of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.

The accident occurred just before 7 p.m. in the 4600 block of Fulton Avenue, authorities said.

Grahek said the woman was crossing at mid-block and was not inside a marked crosswalk. She was taken to Sherman Oaks Hospital and Health Center, where she died a short time later, Grahek said.

The woman’s name was being withheld pending notification of relatives, authorities said. Officials did not know the name of the restaurant.

Grahek said no other injuries were reported, and the case remained under investigation late Saturday.
