RANDY HARVEY’S PAGE TWO

Randy Harvey, who in 15 years with The Times has covered everything from the Lakers to the Olympics, brings a fresh perspective to the Inside Track with the introduction of his “Page Two” column that will appear weekly Monday through Thursday on C2.

Randy steps into the void created by the passing of Southern California’s own Allan Malamud, who died Sept. 16. Notes on a Scorecard is an impossible act to follow, yet although Page Two will be a different column, it will have at least one common denominator: an author who knows the sports scene inside and out.

Another new weekly feature within the Inside Track will be a consumer’s guide to the best and worst of sports media and merchandise. The ground rules are simple: If it can be read, viewed, played, heard, observed, worn, dialed or downloaded, it’s in play.
