Newport Harbor (11-1) vs. Servite (11-1)
7:30 P.M. FRIDAY
CAL STATE FULLERTON
Top-seeded Servite rolled up 555 yards, including 435 passing by Greg Cicero, in last week’s 47-34 victory over El Toro. Newport Harbor took advantage of eight turnovers in a 27-18 victory over Foothill. Servite has the flash--Cicero is the county’s second-leading passer (29 TDs lead the county) and Steve Ward is its leading receiver, but Newport Harbor’s Josiah Fredriksen is third in passing (27 TDs is second in the county) and Ray Ohrel (1,820 yards) is third in rushing. This Division V semifinal should be a physical game, and blue-collar line play could ultimately determine the outcome.
