Selanne Is Not Seeking Excuses

Share

Teemu Selanne refused to blame Saturday’s 5-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on a disallowed goal in the second period, the second time in as many games the Ducks had an apparent goal wiped out for having a player in the crease.

This time, Brian Bellows was ruled to be in the crease when Kevin Todd released a shot that beat Penguin goaltender Patrick Lalime.

Selanne called it a “huge turning point.” Instead of leading, 4-2, the Ducks had a 3-2 lead that didn’t last.

“We played a good game, we had a good effort,” he said. “We had a chance to win the game tonight. I don’t want to make excuses.”
