Notre Dame Hires Purdue’s Colletto

After six losses to Notre Dame, former Purdue coach Jim Colletto gets a chance to see what it’s like on the other side. Colletto was hired Saturday as Notre Dame’s offensive coordinator a little more than a month after announcing his resignation at Purdue. . . . Dana Dimel, a former Kansas State player who has been offensive coordinator for the Wildcats the last two years, has accepted the head coaching job at Wyoming. . . . Ball State gave Coach Bill Lynch a three-year contract extension. . . . Linebacker Mark Patterson tackled Chris Turner in the end zone for a safety with 4:17 to play, and Southwestern Oklahoma defeated Montana Tech, 33-31, to win the NAIA championship at Weatherford, Okla.
