Silva Elected to Panel of State Counties Group
Supervisor Jim Silva was selected to the executive committee of the California State Assn. of Counties, the first Orange County official in years to serve on the panel.
The 15-member committee serves as the governing board for the association, which represents the legislative interests of California’s 58 counties.
Association members elected Silva during a meeting this month in San Diego.
Silva, who has represented the 2nd District on the Board of Supervisors since 1995, plans to focus attention on welfare reform and trial courts funding, two hot issues facing Orange County.
