King update--After losing, 6-2, at Buffalo on Friday, the Kings dropped to 11th place in the Western Conference. They have won only three of their last 15 games and are 0-3 on their current four-game trip. In losses to the New York Rangers and the Sabres, the Kings have been outscored, 10-2. One bright spot has been the play of 13-year veteran Ray Ferraro, who scored his team-leading 13th goal at Buffalo. Ferraro is on pace to have his best goal-scoring season since he had 40 playing for the New York Islanders in 1991-92. Last season, the Kings were 1-0-1 against the Blues at St. Louis.
Blues update--Mike Keenan was fired as coach and general manager last week after a season-long feud with all-star winger Brett Hull. With Ron Caron taking over as general manager and Jimmy Roberts stepping in as interim coach, the Blues have continued to struggle with consecutive 4-0 losses to Pittsburgh on Thursday and Philadelphia on Saturday. St. Louis has lost five consecutive games and a franchise-record six in a row at home. Rookie Jim Campbell has played well with 11 goals and 23 points to lead all first-year players.
