Members Sought for Horse Permit Panel

Share

Rancho Palos Verdes is looking for nine people to serve on an Equestrian Advisory Committee that will decide who gets special permits to have more horses and large domestic animals on their property.

The committee is part of a new animal regulations code that the City Council is considering to limit homeowners to three horses per developed lot unless they get special permission.

In the past, residents were allowed up to six horses or large domestic animals such as sheep, goats and cows on each developed or vacant lot. But the city has been revising the development code and may reduce the number because people have complained that some neighbors are boarding other people’s horses and not cleaning up after them.
