COMMUNITY COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP
In the San Diego Mesa men’s tournament:
Orange Coast 76, San Diego Mesa 55--Orange Coast outscored San Diego Mesa 38-19 in the second half to advance to the consolation championship against Bakersfield. Jovan Robinson scored 24 points and David Downs had 18 for the Pirates (7-8).
In the Fullerton women’s tournament:
Fullerton 73, Riverside 64--Fullerton broke a 28-28 halftime tie for the quarterfinal victory. Angie Baca scored 19 points and Lauren Murphy had 14 points for the Hornets. Heather Floyd had six points, six assists and 10 rebounds for Fullerton, which will play Umpqua (Ore.) in today’s semifinals.
In the San Jose City women’s tournament:
San Mateo 53, Orange Coast 35--Saki Takemota scored eight points and Arlyn Rambayon and Staci Dias each scored seven for Orange Coast (12-4).
