In the third-place game:

Valencia 58, Huntington Beach 51--Rich Reynoza scored 16 points to lead the Tigers (8-6).

In the Beach Ball Classic:

Woodbridge 81, Socastee (S.C.) 49--Chris Burgess made 17 of 21 field goals as Woodbridge defeated Socastee (S.C.), the host team, in the seventh-place game. Burgess scored a season-high 40 points and had 14 rebounds. Burgess was also able to contain Socastee’s leading scorer, Courtland Freeman. Freeman scored two points, had two rebounds and fouled out trying to guard Burgess.

In the championship game of the Brea Olinda boys’ basketball tournament:

Brea Olinda 53, Troy 49--Chris McMillian scored 20 points, including six in the fourth quarter, and Jason Skrifvars grabbed 21 rebounds for the second consecutive game to lead Brea Olinda (10-3), which won its first title in three tournament finals this season.

In the championship game of the Century tournament:

Sonora 59, Century 52--Century tied the score, 52-52, in the fourth quarter, but Sonora held the Centurions scoreless for the remainder of the game to win the tournament championship.

Jimmy Landry led Sonora (13-0) with 21 points and Jeffrey Berokoff and Ben Jones each chipped in 17. Ricky Lopez led Century (8-6) with 20 points and Chris Lopez added 18.

In the championship game of the Canyon Tournament:

El Dorado 58, Loara 49--Ryan Ayer scored 21 points and Ryan Tenpas had 18 for El Dorado.

In the championship game of the Daily Pilot Tip-Off Classic:

Estancia 71, Esperanza 59--Selwyn Mansell scored 14 of his game-high 22 points in the first half as Estancia built a nine-point halftime lead. The Eagles then put the game out of reach by outscoring Esperanza, 19-12, in the third quarter.

Sam Nelson scored 18 points, James Dawkins had 12 and Ryan Simpson contributed 11 for Estancia (6-7).

In the third-place game at the Newport (R.I.) boys’ basketball tournament:

Newport Harbor 89, Bridgeport (Conn.) Harding 82 (3 OT)--Matt Jameson hit an 18-footer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime, and Harding’s Todd Harrell and Greg Savage also made shots at the end of the first and second overtime periods to extend the game.

The Sailors finally won it with a 14-7 run in the third extra period. Adam Hearlson scored 13 of his 21 points in the overtimes, Danny Pulido had eight of his 21 and Jameson seven of his 20 for Newport Harbor (7-5). Pulido also pulled down 18 rebounds.

In the Slam Dunk to the Beach tournament in Lewes, Del.:

Mater Dei 60, Alameda St. Joseph 58--David Castleton made a three-pointer with one second left to give Mater Dei (12-2) the victory in the third-place game.
