Brea Olinda’s 109-34 victory over Western gave the Ladycats a Southern Section-record 98 consecutive Orange League victories, and 145 victories in their last 146 league games.
The lone loss during that stretch was a 58-53 victory by Valencia on Feb. 10, 1987, which gave the Tigers a share of the league championship. That was the lone title share in Brea Olinda’s section record of 14 consecutive league championships.
