Elderly Couple Found Fatally Shot in Apparent Murder-Suicide
An elderly couple, despondent over medical problems, were found shot to death in a mobile home near Whittier on Saturday in an apparent murder-suicide, sheriff’s deputies said.
Deputies discovered the bodies of Helen Neville, 87, and her husband, Raymond, 85, before dawn in the 10000 block of Dunlap Crossing Road, deputies said.
The couple left a suicide note saying they “were despondent about their medical problems” and could not live if they had to be placed in a home for the elderly, deputies said.
A sheriff’s spokeswoman said the man apparently shot his wife, then turned the gun on himself.
