Two city clerk candidates, Sharon Lynn Muravez and Judie Sarquiz, who is deputy city clerk, are hoping to replace Margaret M. Lauerman, who is retiring.

Running unopposed is City Treasurer Jim Rogers.

In the council and school board races, any candidate receiving more than 50% of the votes wins a seat outright. Other top vote-getters would advance to the general election April 8.

Rogers and the candidate receiving the most votes for city clerk would win automatically in the primary.
