First-Place Nevada to Host Titans in Tournament
Nevada (18-7, 12-3), which will finish atop the Big West Conference’s Eastern Division, will host Cal State Fullerton (12-13, 5-10), the Western Division’s fourth-place team, at 6 p.m. next Friday in the first round of the Big West men’s basketball tournament in Reno.
Long Beach State (12-13, 8-7) will meet either New Mexico State (17-8, 11-4) or Utah State (18-8, 11-4) in the night’s second game.
In the day session, Pacific (21-4, 12-3), the Western Division champion, plays Boise State (13-12, 8-7) at noon, followed by UC Santa Barbara (12-13, 7-8) against either New Mexico State or Utah State.
The tournament winner gets an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament.
