From Staff Reports

Thousand Oaks High didn’t give the game away, really.

Ventura Buena, The Times’ No. 2-ranked girls’ basketball team, just decided to take it, same as it did with the ball.

The result was that the Bulldogs forced the Lancers into 24 turnovers en route to a resounding 60-33 victory in the quarterfinals of the Southern Section Division I-A playoffs Saturday night at Thousand Oaks High.

Tenacious full-court defensive pressure, combined with plenty of crisp passing and high-percentage shot selection by Buena (24-2) in the second half, spelled the end for Thousand Oaks (20-7).
