Outlaw Earns Fitch’s Praise

The Clippers are 4-1 since Coach Bill Fitch inserted Charles Outlaw into the starting lineup.
“We couldn’t have done any of this without Bo,” Fitch said of Outlaw, who averaged 8.8 points, nine rebounds, 3.2 blocks, three assists and 40 minutes in his first four games as a starter. “Bo’s been there all year, like the Rock of Gibralter.
“He’s done a good job for us all year [as a reserve] and then he’s thrown in there as a starter.”
Outlaw made a career-high eight free throws in Sunday’s overtime loss at Denver.

Guard Brent Barry was held out of the game by Fitch. It’s the second time in the last five games that Fitch hasn’t used Barry. . . . Center Stanley Roberts, who underwent back surgery on Feb. 21, had the stitches removed on Friday.
