Michelle Greco’s crusade continues.

The Crescenta Valley High senior guard scored a school-record 54 points to lift the Falcons to an 83-77 overtime victory over Porterville Monache on Tuesday night in the first round of the Southern California Regional Division I girls’ tournament.

Greco scored 34 and 37 in her previous two playoff games.

“This is what a big-time player does,” Crescenta Valley Coach Marc Ward said. “The whole playoffs, I can’t say I can’t believe it. But it’s nice to see her more animated on the court and leading the team.”

Greco scored 10 of the Falcons’ 12 points in overtime. She had 17 rebounds.

Monache (29-2) took a 10-0 lead and led by as many as 15 points.

Crescenta Valley (29-3) was plagued by turnovers and foul trouble. Falcon point guard Tara Gregory played with four fouls and had trouble containing Monache point guard Shea Perkiss, who had 17 points.
