No one was injured, but seven people lost their home in a fire Friday on Paula Street in Oxnard.

Authorities are still investigating the fire, which began at 11:30 a.m. It destroyed the single-story house and killed two family cats, said Oxnard Fire Department Battalion Chief Terry McAnally.

The fire caused about $120,000 damage, he said.

One firefighter sustained a groin pull battling the blaze, according to McAnally.

Six adults and one juvenile lived in the house, authorities said. On Friday afternoon, the American Red Cross of Ventura County was helping the occupants, including owner Ruben Alvarez, with clothing and food, said Richard Rink, director of disaster services.

In addition, the Red Cross was trying to help them find lodging at a local motel.
