Carl H. Schiermeyer Jr.; Contractor
Carl Henry Schiermeyer Jr., 74, contractor and philanthropist who assisted the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Born in Huntington Park, Schiermeyer served in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he became president of the family contracting company, C.H. Schiermeyer & Sons. In his nearly 40 years in the business, Schiermeyer built several schools, convents and rectories for the archdiocese and sponsored programs at Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish in Downey. Schiermeyer was active in the Knights of Columbus and Kiwanis. On Monday in Colton, Calif.
