The Birmingham High/Bassco baseball tournament begins today with 28 pool-play games.

Camarillo (5-1), ranked second in the region by The Times, plays host to eighth-ranked Kennedy (5-2) at 3 p.m.

Camarillo features multi-sport seniors Joe Borchard and Andy Kroneberger. Kennedy is led by Jon Garland and David Lusk.

College baseball: At noon, Portland at Pepperdine (doubleheader), Citrus at Antelope Valley. At 1 p.m., Glendale at Santa Barbara, Mission at Hancock, Pierce at Oxnard, Valley at Cuesta, Bakersfield at Moorpark, Canyons at Ventura. At 7 p.m., Master’s at UC Riverside.

Men’s tennis: At 1 p.m., Utah at Pepperdine.

College track: At 11 a.m., Cal State Northridge, Ventura in Northridge Invitational; Glendale, Moorpark and Valley in La Verne Invitational.

Men’s volleyball: At 7 p.m., Cal State Northridge at UC Irvine.

Boys’ basketball: At 3 p.m., Hillsdale vs. Harvard-Westlake in CIF State Division III final at the Pond.

High school baseball: At 10 a.m., Birmingham/Bassco tournament--Simi Valley vs. Montclair Prep at Mission Hills Little League Complex, Vasquez at Birmingham, South Gate at Grant, Newbury Park at Village Christian, University at Channel Islands, Van Nuys at Calabasas, Westchester at Poly, Littlerock at Notre Dame, Kennedy at Nordhoff, Hollywood at Camarillo, Franklin at Monroe, Venice at San Fernando.
