Campbell Hall Finally Holds Court, 11-7

It took 14 years, but the Campbell Hall High boys’ tennis team finally beat Brentwood.

Josh Glass and James Chun swept at No. 1 doubles and the Vikings defeated Brentwood, 11-7, in a Delphic League opener Friday at the Racquet Centre.

Campbell Hall (10-0), which beat Calabasas on Tuesday, pulled off its second surprise this week. The Eagles (3-2) are three-time defending Southern Section Division IV champions.

Notre Dame 9, St. Francis 9--The Knights (4-2, 2-1) won the Mission League match on games, 82-79, when Andrew Pogany and Niko Gutrugianios swept doubles play at Valley College.

Westlake 15, Agoura 3--Darren Joe won at No. 1 singles for the Warriors (6-0, 4-0) in a Marmonte League match at Westlake.

Camarillo 12, Simi Valley 6--Jason Gaona swept his singles and doubles matches for the Scorpions (6-2, 4-1) in a Marmonte League match at Simi Valley.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Littlerock d. Bell-Jeff, 15-5, 15-6, 13-15, 13-15, 15-8--Chris Gorny had 24 kills, 19 digs and 13 blocks at Littlerock.

Chuck Jones set a school record for the Lobos (4-2) with 59 assists.

St. Francis d. Notre Dame, 15-10, 15-6, 15-3--Eddie Stanislawski had 14 kills for St. Francis (5-3, 2-2) in a Mission League match at Notre Dame (1-4, 1-2).

Royal d. Simi Valley, 15-1, 15-5, 15-9--Nick Flanagan had seven kills for the Highlanders (5-0, 4-0) in a Marmonte League match.

Westlake d. Agoura, 15-8, 15-9, 15-12--Kevin Nagler had 17 kills for the Warriors (4-1, 4-0) in a Marmonte League match.
