Cypress won two games at the Allan Hancock baseball tournament in Santa Maria Wednesday to give Coach Scott Pickler his 399th and 400th victories.

“It’s a crime that someone pays me to have this much fun and put a uniform on each day,” said Pickler, who is in his 13th season and improved his career record to 400-187-1.

Cypress (22-6) came from behind to win the first game, 11-10, scoring six runs in the bottom of the ninth against Merced. Greg Jacobs’ three-run double capped the winning rally.

In the second game, Jim Kirkland pitched a two-hitter to lift Cypress to a 5-0 victory over host Allan Hancock. Kirkland struck out five and walked two.

In the Hardball Classic baseball tournament:

Rancho Santiago 3, Los Angeles Mission 2--The Dons (25-2) trailed, 2-1, heading into the bottom of the ninth before Josh Reding’s sacrifice fly and Joe Secoda’s double provided the winning runs.

Rancho Santiago starter Jeff Bowman allowed four hits and one earned run through 7 2/3 innings, but didn’t get much support as the Dons left 12 runners on base.

In the College of the Sequoias baseball tournament:

Saddleback 5, East Los Angeles 4--Saddleback (22-4) scored a run in the eighth and three in the ninth to come from behind. Nick Punto’s single drove in Ryan Ruiz with the tying run and Johnny Nguyen followed with a base hit to score Corie Wilkie.

In pool play at the Southwestern softball tournament:

Cypress wins two--Sophomore Jamie Wilkes pitched two shutouts to improve to 24-2 and give her 50 career victories to break Cypress’ record. Laura Corson held the previous record of 49 set in 1990-91.

Wilkes pitched a five-hitter in an 8-0 victory over Southwestern and a six-hitter in a 3-0 victory over Bakersfield. Autumn Gwinner had three hits in the two games for Cypress (42-3).
