Mission Expects 4,000 for Lunch

More than 4,000 people are expected to be served lunch today at the Los Angeles Mission’s annual Easter meal on 5th Street on skid row.
Hundreds of volunteers will serve ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and apple pie from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Servers will include celebrities such as Dyan Cannon, Jayne Meadows Allen, Justine Bateman, Jack Carter, Gary Coleman, Jeff Conaway, Ray Conniff, Sandra Dee, Earl Holliman, Rose Marie and Jean Smart.
Entertainment will be provided by the Los Angeles Mission Band, gospel musicians who are enrolled in the mission’s rehabilitation program or have completed it.
