Share

Conejo Valley artists are exhibiting some of their work at the Westlake Village Art Guild’s 23rd annual Juried Fine Arts Show at Thousand Oaks Community Gallery in Newbury Park.

Guild members will officially open the exhibit today with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. at the gallery, 2331 Borchard Road; it will run through April 20.

Local artist Jackie Cavish judged about 90 works submitted by guild members and others for inclusion in the exhibit; 50 of the finest are on display.

“It’s a process where not everyone gets in,” said guild President Marilyn Sutton, who added that the juried show is one of three artists’ competitions held by the group each year.

Sutton said that during the reception, awards will be given for the three best works in four categories: Oil/Acrylic; Water Media; Graphics, Original Drawings and Pastels; and Sculpture. An award will also be given for “Best of Show.”

The exhibit will be open during normal gallery hours, from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.
