In another Sea View League game:

Corona del Mar 17, Newport Harbor 0--Corona del Mar (6-6-1, 1-2-1) set a school record with seven homers, two by Ty Harper.

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 9, Katella 0--Justin Smith was three for three with a double and two RBIs, and Jordan DeJong (4-1) and Jerry Miller combined on a three-hitter for second-ranked El Dorado (13-1, 3-1).

Loara 6, Kennedy 5 (8)--Orlando Murguia reached base on an error in the bottom of the eighth, he stole second, advanced to third on an errant pickoff throw and scored on an infield single with two outs by Anthony Brimmer to give Loara (6-8, 2-2) the victory.

In the Garden Grove League:

Bolsa Grande 12, Garden Grove 2--Gus DeLeon (5-2) struck out 11 batters and walked one, and Isaac Gonzalez, Joey Francisco and Adam Corona each went three for four for Bolsa Grande (12-4, 2-1).

La Quinta 8, Los Amigos 2--Sophomore left-hander Steve Lee improved to 7-0 as he and Jason Garcia combined for seven strikeouts and one walk for ninth-ranked La Quinta (14-3, 1-1).

Pacifica 16, Rancho Alamitos 4--Jon Dorenbos was three for three with five RBIs for Pacifica (8-7, 2-1).

In the Golden West League:

Servite 19, Santa Ana 2--Greg Cicero was two for three with four RBIs, Ryan Garko was three for three with three RBIs and Ryan Brown had two hits and drove in three runs for sixth-ranked Servite (13-2, 4-0).

Tustin 5, Saddleback 0--Chad Chop had two hits and drove in two runs, and Elmer Roldan (3-0) pitched six shutout innings for Tustin (9-4, 2-2), which turned three double plays.

Westminster 8, Ocean View 7--Host Ocean View scored six runs in its final at bat, but came up a run short. Chris Brewer drove in three runs and earned his third save for Westminster (11-4, 4-0).

In the Orange League:

Brea Olinda 5, Western 3 (11)--Brea (5-7, 3-1) scored two runs in the top of the 11th without a hit. Brea had three walks and two sacrifices in the inning. Jason Julius pitched five scoreless innings in relief to get the victory.

Valencia 2, Anaheim 0--Edgar Ivarra (3-3) pitched a one-hitter with nine strikeouts and Mark Swanson hit his second home run of the season for Valencia (9-5, 2-2).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Beach 4, Estancia 1--Justin Berti and Jimmy McKibban each had two hits and Micah Grant had a home run to lead Laguna Beach (6-8, 1-3). Kraigher O’Keefe (2-2) gave up four hits and struck out four for Laguna.

In the South Coast League:

Mater Dei 5, San Clemente 2--Pat Manning hit his sixth home run of the season and had a double to lead third-ranked Mater Dei (11-3, 4-0).

Mission Viejo 4, Capistrano Valley 3--Scott Carr had a two-run single and Commander King had the winning RBI as Mission Viejo (7-7, 2-2) got four runs in the bottom of the sixth to erase a 3-0 deficit. Mike Clifton had a three-run home run for Capistrano Valley (6-7-1, 2-1-1) in the top of the third.

Trabuco Hills 9, Dana Hills 4--Brett Woodhull hit a three-run home run and Zach Gause hit a grand slam in a seven-run sixth inning for Trabuco Hills (6-7, 1-3). Chris Weber was two for two with a run scored for Dana Hills (5-8-1, 1-2-1).

In the Sunset League;

Edison 8, Los Alamitos 7--Second baseman Craig Yakota had two hits, drove in three runs and made two diving stops with runners on third to lead host Edison (6-8, 1-3).

Esperanza 8, Marina 4--Nathan Choate (5-0) struck out seven in five innings to get the victory for top-ranked Esperanza (13-2, 4-0). Tommy Nicholson had four hits, two runs scored and an RBI for the Aztecs. Omar Oregel, who was three for four with three runs scored, capped Esperanza’s scoring with a sixth-inning home run.

Fountain Valley 16, Huntington Beach 15--Brian Jones was five for five with a triple, four RBIs and four runs, including what proved to be the winner in the top of the seventh for seventh-ranked Fountain Valley (10-5, 4-0).

The two teams combined for 31 runs, 26 hits and 10 errors.
