Frank McCourt, who last week won the Pulitzer Prize for biography, is just one of dozens of prize-winning authors who will take part in the the second annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on Saturday and Sunday, April 19 and 20, on the UCLA campus. Events are free to the public.
McCourt will be joined by four other Pulitzer honorees, a Nobel Prize recipient, a member of the writers’ wing of the Baseball Hall of Fame and winners of a myriad of other prizes ranging from Tony awards to Cuba’s prestigious Casa de las Americas prize to the Caldecott Medal.
The festival will feature more than 60 author events and a wide variety of programs for children as well as publishers’ and booksellers’ booths and book signings. Times are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 19 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 20. See the Festival of Books program in today’s Times for more information or visit our Web site: www.latimes.com/festival
