VICHY, Mo. — A single-engine plane that crashed in central Missouri, killing two people and critically injuring a third, ran out of fuel less than a mile from Vichy Airport, officials said Saturday.
The Cessna 210 crashed Friday night in dense woods near the small airport, about 80 miles southwest of St. Louis. “He ran out of gas and that was how the accident occurred,” Federal Aviation Administration duty officer Ed Washington said from Kansas City.
It was unclear who was piloting the plane, which took off from Butler, Pa.
