Still angry over suggestions of point shaving by the 1989 Detroit Pistons contained in the book “Money Players,” the NBA said Saturday that doctors had released records confirming treatment of Isiah Thomas for a head injury that kept him out of a game at Oakland.

Thomas was elbowed in the head in a game at Utah and held out of the next game against Golden State because of a concussion. He reportedly went to Merritt Hospital, now called Summit Medical Center, for a CT scan. The book said an employee of the hospital had no record of Thomas being admitted.

The league said doctors have released 20 pages of detailed documentation showing that Thomas was admitted. The records include results of the CT scan and recommended treatment.

Indiana Pacer forward Derrick McKey had surgery on his ruptured right Achilles’ tendon and will be sidelined for at least six months, jeopardizing his availability for the beginning of next season.

“It’s a terrible, terrible, injury,” Coach Larry Brown said Friday. “There’s nothing you can do about it. If there’s a blessing, it’s that he’s got all summer to rehabilitate.”

Nate McMillan’s battered body is telling him it’s almost time for retirement.

“It’s definitely on my mind, the SuperSonic veteran said after practice Friday in San Antonio, where Seattle was preparing for Saturday’s game against the Spurs.

“I have one more year on my contract and I plan to call it quits at the end of that year. I’m just tired of dealing with rehabbing and tearing my body up,” he said.
