A Ventura woman was in critical condition Monday night after the car she was riding in was struck broadside by another vehicle, according to Ventura police.

Sarah Schwartz, 86, was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Ralph, 83. As Ralph Schwartz tried to make a left turn from northbound Harbor Boulevard onto Seaward Avenue about 4:30 p.m., a car driven by 25-year-old Miguel Vasquez struck the couple’s car.

Ralph Schwartz was not injured, police said. Paramedics took Sarah Schwartz to Community Memorial Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
