Some Old Friends Get Together

It’s a flashback weekend with a lot of familiar faces popping up on series and even in a new movie.

Former TV series doctors Wayne Rogers (“MASH,” “House Calls”), Chad Everett (“Medical Center”) and Bernie Kopell (“The Love Boat”) guest as--what else?--physicians who are prime suspects in the murder of a surgeon (Jack Klugman, who played medical examiner “Quincy”) on CBS’ “Diagnosis Murder,” at 8 tonight on Channel 2.

John Schneider, Tom Wopat and Catherine Bach reprise their roles of Bo, Luke and Daisy Duke on CBS’ “The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion!” at 8 p.m. Friday on Channel 2. In this lighthearted flick based on the 1979-85 series, Bo and Luke learn that a businesswoman’s (Stella Stevens) plans to build an amusement park would close their uncle’s farm. The Duke’s trusty car, the General Lee, is also gassed up and ready for action.

Don Johnson’s CBS cop series “Nash Bridges,” at 10 p.m. Friday on Channel 2, also gets into the reunion spirit. Philip Michael Thomas, who starred with Johnson on “Miami Vice,” guests as Nash’s friend who is out to find the man who cheated him out of money. The culprit just happens to be none other than Tommy Chong, the former comedy partner of “Nash” star Cheech Marin.

Masters champ Tiger Woods visits “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” at 3 p.m. on Channel 7.

Let’s get ready to rumble. The NBA playoffs begin on TNT at 5 and 7:30 p.m. and on TBS at 6:30 p.m.

Ben Stiller visits NBC’s “Friends,” at 8 p.m. on Channel 4, as Rachel’s date to the opening of Joey’s off-Broadway play. But Ross discovers the seemingly nice guy has a dark side.

Friday

Tawny Little and Alex Trebek host the behind-the-scenes special “The Magic of Cirque du Soleil,” airing at 8 p.m. on Channel 13. Taped at the Treasure Island Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, the special looks at the Canadian’s troupe’s popular Vegas show, “Mystere.” Following the program is a repeat of the L.A. premiere special of its most recent show, “Quidam.”

Diane Sawyer’s exclusive TV interview with Ellen DeGeneres, in which she discusses her sexuality and her decision to have her TV character come out, airs on ABC’s “20/20,” at 10 p.m. on Channel 7.

Saturday

Two-time heavyweight champion George Foreman enters the ring for a 12-round bout in Atlantic City with undefeated Lou Savarese, at 7 p.m. on HBO. Jim Lampley, Larry Merchant and Roy Jones Jr. report from Atlantic City.

NBC’s latest magic special, “The World’s Greatest Magic,” airing at 8 p.m. on Channel 4, features those bad boys of illusion, Penn & Teller.

Mickey Rourke and his wife, Carre Otis, star in the Movie Channel thriller “Exit in Red,” airing at 9 p.m. Rourke plays a Palm Springs shrink who is framed for murder.

The Irish rock group headlines the ABC special “U2: A Year in Pop,” airing at 10 p.m. on Channel 7, which features segments on the history of the band, recording sessions and clips from its opening night performance of its current tour.

Chuck Norris’ popular CBS series, “Walker, Texas Ranger,” celebrates its 100th episode, at 10 p.m. on Channel 2. Norris’ youngest son, Eric, directs the installment about a little girl trying to stop the violence in her neighborhood. Mike Norris, Chuck’s eldest son, plays a doctor.

Sunday

Bill Kurtis hosts A&E;’s “Police,” airing at 5 and 9 p.m. The two-hour documentary chronicles the evolution of law enforcement in America.

Showtime’s dramatic anthology “Riot,” airing at 8 p.m., examines the civil unrest that rocked Los Angeles five years ago this month after the verdicts in the controversial Rodney King case. Mario Van Peebles, Melvin Van Peebles, Cicely Tyson and Luke Perry are among the stars.

Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis headlines the CBS drama “A Match Made in Heaven,” at 9 p.m. She plays an ailing mother of a bachelor divorce lawyer (John Stamos) who tries to find a wife for him before she dies.

Steven Weber, Rebecca DeMornay and Courtland Mead star in “The Shining,” ABC’s lavish six-hour miniseries version of Stephen King’s classic 1977 novel. The series begins at 9 p.m. on Channel 7 and continues Monday and Thursday at 9 p.m.
