SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

The largest crowd of the season--5,014--turned out Saturday night to see the JetHawks play the San Jose Giants at the Hangar.

And the JetHawks put on quite a show. After they rallied for four runs to tie the game in the eighth, Miguel Correa delivered a high chopper over first base to drive in Luis Molina with one out in the ninth and give the JetHawks a 6-5 victory.

Molina began the ninth-inning rally with a triple, James Clifford walked and Shawn Buhner was intentionally walked to load the bases for Correa.

Molina also started the eighth-inning rally with a double. Clifford followed with a single to pull the JetHawks to within 5-2, and after Buhner singled, Tarrick Brock doubled to make the score 5-3.

Dusty Wathan hit a high chopper to shortstop Mike Caruso, who made an off-balance throw that wound up in the stands behind first base, allowing Buhner and Brock to score.

For six innings, Brandon Leese blanked the JetHawks on five hits. He tired in the seventh when he gave up singles to Brock and Wathan.

Mike McMullen, a graduate of Kennedy High, relieved and got out of the inning after Carols Villalobos drove in Brock with a grounder.
