No Serious Injuries as Pickup Overturns
A 24-year-old Camarillo man whose pickup truck flipped over and skidded on its roof across three lanes of traffic on the Ventura Freeway on Tuesday afternoon walked away with scratches on his elbow and wrist, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Isaac Ayala was driving south in the fast lane about 12:15 p.m. when he lost control of the pickup, said CHP Officer Ron Erickson. The truck slid on its roof, crashed into a car being towed by a motor home and careened across the freeway before coming to a stop.
“It looked to me like he cut himself when he got out of the truck,” Erickson said. “Because he wore his seat belt, he was protected, and wasn’t badly hurt.”
Ayala refused medical care. The car he crashed into was slightly damaged, Erickson said. CHP officers closed the road for 25 minutes after the accident. No one else was hurt in the incident.
