JetHawks Short on Firepower, 8-6

The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes hit four home runs and downed the Lancaster JetHawks, 8-6, Wednesday night in a California League Southern Division game at the Epicenter in Rancho Cucamonga.

Rick Prieto hit the first pitch of the bottom of the first inning for his second home run, Mike Darr hit his fourth and Ben Reynoso added his first, both two-run homers in the second inning, and Mike Mitchell of Rio Mesa High hit his 14th with the bases empty in the fifth.

Jim Horner, a recent addition to the JetHawks (4-3), hit his first two home runs, solo shots in the third and ninth innings.

Domingo Guzman (1-1) pitched six innings for the Quakes (5-2), allowing five runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking four.

Scanning Tuesday’s box scores: TRIPLE A--Left-fielder Ryan Radmanovich (Pepperdine) hit his 17th home run for Salt Lake, fourth best in the Pacific Coast League. . . .
