2 Suspects Arrested in Liquor Store Slaying
Police have arrested two suspects in the killing of a man outside a Hawthorne liquor store on Imperial Highway nearly three weeks ago.
Miguel Salcedo, 38, had just left the Snappy Foods store June 8 when two men tried to rob him, police said. One suspect stabbed him and another hit him over the head with a bottle, said Hawthorne Police Lt. Jim McInerny.
Desmond Moses, 24, of Whittier was arrested Wednesday afternoon after being brought to the Hawthorne police station for questioning, police said.
Uzoma Onuoha, 21, of Hawthorne was detained by Riverside County sheriff’s deputies in Desert Hot Springs and arrested by Hawthorne police early Thursday.
Both are being held in Hawthorne City Jail without bail and are scheduled to be arraigned today in Inglewood Municipal Court.
