Dana L. Eaton of Ventura has been hired as general manager of Ivy Lawn Memorial Park. He began his role at the 66-acre cemetery July 28, succeeding Linda Loftis of Camarillo.

Eaton, son of former Ventura mayor and county Supervisor Dave Eaton, worked for the Ted Mayr Funeral Home for five years before joining Ivy Lawn.

* Eve Rudolph, founder of Secured Financial Services in Camarillo, has been elected president of the board of directors for the California Assn. of Mortgage Brokers. Michael Rudolph, also of Secured Financial Services, was elected to the board.

The association represents more than 2,000 mortgage professionals throughout the state.

* Nancy Shemwell has been named general manager of Micom Communications Corp. in Simi Valley. She succeeds Gilbert Cabral, currently Micom president, who will remain with the company through September.

The reorganization is part of a transition that started in June when Northern Telecom acquired Micom.

* Robert Strmiska has joined IPC Systems Engineering in Ventura as a senior staff engineer. He will be in a department responsible for power and controls engineering projects.

Strmiska has 16 years’ experience in systems engineering and design of capital projects for manufacturing and engineering corporations.

* Alternative Energy and Environmental Engineering in Ventura has hired Albert Rodriguez to perform Autocad and manual drafting services. Rodriguez, a lifetime Ventura County resident, attended the Phoenix Institute of Technology and Ventura College.

The company’s projects currently in design or construction include the East End and Holy Cross schools in Ventura and modernization projects at Ventura College, Pleasant Valley Hospital and the Port Hueneme Boys & Girls Club.

* Robert Newport has been hired as general manager of Center Graphics in Camarillo. He has worked in the sales and print production business for almost 30 years.

Newport is among several people hired in recent months by the printing facility.
