Pets on Parade in Pasadena

Dogs, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs and nonpoisonous reptiles will be on display from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pets on Parade at Central Park (intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Del Mar Boulevard) in Pasadena.

Sponsored by the Pasadena Senior Center and the city of Pasadena in celebration of Youth Month, the event will include refreshments, contests and a low-cost vaccination and flea clinic open until 3 p.m. Admission is free. Information: Cynthia Vaughan, (818) 795-4331.

SATURDAY

* CARE (Cat Assistance, Rescue & Education) will have a yard sale to help pay for the care of the homeless cats it shelters. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hope House, 7911 Fulton Ave., North Hollywood. Information: (818) 559-3675.

* Little Angels Pug Rescue will have its monthly adoption fair at Petco, 2828 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica, from noon until 3 p.m. Applicants are screened and a minimum donation of $175 is required. Information: (310) 453-8474.

* L.A. Animal Services will have a mobile adoption unit at the Century City Shopping Center, 10250 Santa Monica Blvd., from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adoption fees are $54 to $74 for dogs and $45 to $51 for cats. Fees cover vaccinations, spaying or neutering and dog licensing. Information: (213) 485-8542.
