Man Kills Himself at Firing Range
A West Hills man walked into a firing range Wednesday afternoon, rented a gun, entered a firing booth and then shot himself, police said.
Los Angeles Police Department detectives are treating the shooting as a suicide, LAPD Officer Don Cox said.
The 39-year-old man, whose name was not released pending notification of his relatives, had visited the Firing Line shooting range in Northridge several times, Cox said.
On Wednesday, the man entered Firing Line at 18348 Eddy St. at 2:30 p.m. Shortly thereafter he shot himself in the head, officials said.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
