Rooney Could Use a Little Spin Control

Share

After huddling around Coach Kevin Rooney following practice Monday, the Notre Dame High football team let out a roar and sprinted off the field.

Rooney was left scratching his head and holding a large wooden disc with an plastic arrow in the center. After each practice, a player who has erred in some way during the session is called before the team and spins the arrow in a game of chance.

The face of the disc is divided into eight categories, seven detailing conditioning drills such as sprints or bear crawls which the team must perform if the arrow points to them. The eighth reads “Home Free” and is where the arrow stopped Monday, letting the Knights off the hook.

Said Rooney: “This darn thing always stops on Home Free.”
