Not a Great Story, but It Packs Quite a Moral
Just sitting with my 6-year-old watching “SportsCenter” this week when up popped a graphic of three Portland Trail Blazer players under indictment for different offenses.
“Who are they, Daddy?”
“Oh, they’re three athletes who broke the law.”
“Why’d they break the law, Daddy?”
“I don’t know, son, but it’s better if you understand that they did bad things that you shouldn’t do.”
“Like what, Daddy?”
“Oh, drugs, stealing, assaulting other people.”
“And, they let them keep playing basketball, Daddy?”
“Yes, son.”
“But, that’s stupid.”
Precisely, son.
