Seductive, often comedic vocalist-actress Eartha Kitt has been nominated for Tonys, Oscars, Emmys and Grammys during her long, sometimes controversial career. Kitt is expert at communicating with an audience and she should be in purr-fect form in the intimate confines of Founders Hall at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

“Los Vecinos: A Play for Neighbors,” Cornerstone Theater Company’s newest community-based play, is a contemporary East L.A. version of the traditional Mexican shepherd’s play “La Pastorela,” in which neighbors traverse a chaotic, magical Angeleno landscape. Performed in English with some Spanish.

8:30 pm: Dance Benefit

“Holiday on Modern” is an AIDS benefit with a twist. Choreographers Phyllis Douglass, Monica Favand, Kitty McNamee, the Jazzantiqua Dance and Music Ensemble, Koala Yip, Shari Nyce and Bubba Carr will present dance premieres created for this event and set, at least in part, to traditional and neoclassic holiday music. All proceeds will benefit the Valley Community Clinic’s outreach, HIV testing and intervention programs. A joint presentation of Highways Performance Space and Voices in Motion.
