Duo of Douglas, West Downs Arcadia, 66-61

Ruben Douglas and Mike West combined to score 60 points and Bell-Jeff defeated Arcadia, 66-61, in the second round of the Arroyo tournament Wednesday at Arroyo High.

Douglas, who has committed to attend Arizona next year, scored 33 points. West had 27 points.

Montclair Prep 84, Leuzinger 81--Rocky Steryo made 10 of 19 field-goal attempts, including eight three-point baskets, and finished with 28 points and eight assists for the Mounties (2-1) in a consolation-bracket game of the El Segundo tournament.

Channel Islands 77, Santa Maria 62--Dwight Sattiewhite scored 29 points and O.J. Thomas had 18 points and nine assists for the Raiders (4-0) in a pool-play game of the Channel Islands tournament.

Newbury Park 84, Bendigo (Australia) 69--Daniel Bobik had 19 points, eight assists and eight rebounds, Robert Congelliere contributed 18 points and Brian Polen had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Panthers (5-2) in a Thousand Oaks tournament pool play game.

Harvard-Westlake 66, Oak Park 57--Russell Lakey scored 26 points and had six assists for the Wolverines (4-0) in a pool play game in the Thousand Oaks tournament.

Glendale 81, Blair 65--Tomik Irnaosian scored 24 points, Krikor Karamanoukian had 19 and Ron Baghomian added 18 points for the Dynamiters (3-2) in a nonleague victory over the visiting Vikings (0-2).

North Hollywood 63, El Camino Real 46--Keron Wilkerson scored 18 points and Dejon Lee added 15 for the Huskies (3-3) in a nonconference game at North Hollywood.

Taft 69, Banning 53--Amir Bar-Netzer and Brandyn Fisher scored 20 points apiece and the Toreadors (3-1) won a nonconference game at Banning.

Carson 97, Reseda 72--Sophomore guard Larry Knox had 17 points, junior center Robert Arceneaux contributed 14 and sophomore swingman Michael Brignac scored 12 points for the Regents (0-2) in a nonconference game at Carson (3-2).

Verdugo Hills 57, Eagle Rock 52--Senior guard Joe Moore had 20 points and six steals for the host Dons (1-4, 1-0) in a Northern Conference opener.

Sylmar 67, Granada Hills 65--Senior guard Scott Neumann scored 15 points for the Highlanders (2-3) but the team’s comeback effort fell short in a nonconference game.

Malibu 66, Hueneme 65--Ian Fishburn scored the game-winning basket on a tip in with two seconds remaining to help the Sharks (1-2) win the first-round game in the Channel Islands tournament.

GIRLS

Sylmar 61, Kennedy 43--Veronica Ramos, a transfer from Van Nuys High, made 12 of 17 field-goals and five of seven free throws for the Spartans (1-1) at Kennedy.

Eagle Rock 63, Verdugo Hills 21--Deyna Barnard scored eight points for the Dons (1-3, 0-1) in a Northern Conference loss at Eagle Rock.
