UPCOMING PREP EVENTS IN ORANGE COUNTY

Today second-ranked Mission Viejo (2-0) will travel to third-ranked Santa Margarita, although the Eagles (1-2) are sure to drop in the polls after losing, 2-0, to fourth-ranked Esperanza and, 1-0, to unranked Canyon (2-1). Mission Viejo is led by senior forwards Amber Skallerud and Kate Desmond. Canyon, which is making a bid to move into the county’s top 10 with victories over the Eagles and El Dorado, will visit ninth-ranked El Toro today. Canyon’s only loss this season was to Esperanza, 1-0. The Irvine tournament will play rain-makeup games on Friday, with the featured game being Esperanza vs. El Toro at 4:30 p.m. at Heritage Park. The championships are Saturday at Irvine High at 6:35 p.m.
