Gauchos Mutiny Against Pimm
UC Santa Barbara players, during a players-only meeting this week, called for Coach Jerry Pimm’s resignation. A vote was taken, and all but two players who abstained voted against Pimm, Santa Barbara television station KEYT reported Tuesday.
After being informed of the vote Monday, Pimm held an emergency meeting with Athletic Director Gary Cunningham and then met with the players.
Bill Mahoney, Santa Barbara director of media relations, said it was his understanding that the players’ vote was not directed at forcing Pimm to resign, but rather to get him to meet with them and discuss perceived problems.
